Jacquet Droz Tourbillon

Jacquet Droz Tourbillon
Freeing the mechanical watch from the effects of gravity, the tourbillon comes enclosed in a white-gold case with a Côtes de Genève dial or a red-gold case with a Grand Feu enameled dial and crafted from sapphire crystal, an exceptional material, also used for the figure-8 shaped ring applied to the dial.
The tourbillon is placed at the very heart of the seconds subdial, off-centered at twelve o'clock.

The impact of this virtuoso feat of craftsmanship is heightened by the classical beauty of the hours and minutes subdial at six o'clock. The Roman numerals and the tapered, beautifully proportioned hands bespeak quiet elegance, a Jaquet Droz specialty. Striking a harmonious balance between cutting-edge technical performance and a taste for simplicity, these two timepieces not only feature a power reserve of 7 days, but also reveal their inner workings via a transparent case back, through which the movement and the new, personalized oscillating weight may be glimpsed.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Worldtimer

IWC Pilot’s Watch Worldtimer
The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Worldtimer shows current local time and can be advanced or turned back in one-hour steps to show the new local time, even when crossing the International Date Line.  The 24-hour ring makes it easy to read off all 24 time zones.  If the wearer passes through one or several time zones, the time can be adjusted forwards or backwards in one-hour steps via the crown to show the new local time, even when crossing the International Date Line. The date simply moves in sync with the jumping hour hand. Once set correctly using the crown, the black-and-white 24-hour ring encircling the dial enables the wearer to read off the time in all 24 time zones.
The 23 place names on the external city ring each represent a time zone, and standard time is centred below the name of the city. In the illustration, the dial shows local time as 10:10. The 24-hour ring displays the current UTC time in London, where it is 18:10, while the time in New York is 13:10. In cities on daylight saving time, the time can be read below the dot linked to the city name with a line. If local time is changed on the dial, the time shown by the 24-hour ring remains unaffected and the movement continues to run during the changeover.

Harry Winston Histoire de Tourbillon 3 Watch
The third series in Harry Winston’s exploration of the tourbillon
The Histoire de Tourbillion 3 is made up of polished and satin brushed 18 karat white gold and Zalium alloy metal case housing two of the tourbillions in a solo lop sided oval with the third tourbillion sitting on it’s own.

When the six yellow citrines appear against the marker, it’s time to wind up the watch.

TAG Heuer Mikrogirder 2000

TAG Heuer Mikrogirder 2000
Conceived, developed and manufactured in-house in the company’s R&D lab in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, the MIKROGIRDER is the fastest mechanical regulator ever crafted and tested.  Accurate to an unprecedented 5/10,000 or 1/2,000th of a second, the MIKROGIRDER is a completely new regulator system — a coupling beam/girder and excitatory beam/girder system working with a linear oscillator that vibrates isochronously at a very small angle, as opposed to a traditional watch, which vibrates at an angle of up to 320 degrees.
With the MIKROGIRDER, there is no loss of amplitude and the movement’s frequency can be modulated on a very large spectrum of frequency without overburdening the power supply. The result is a significant increase in precision (division of time) and performance (frequency accuracy and stability). The MIKROGIRDER energy performance will enable TAG Heuer chronographs to attain ultra-high frequencies never before dreamed possible.

TAG Heuer has embedded this masterpiece in a new stunning asymmetric chronograph case design. Though the placement of the crown at 12 o’clock is inspired by the 1/100th of a second Heuer stopwatches of the 1920s, the overall design is decisively avant-garde.

Royal Blue Tourbillion Watch from Ulysse Nardin

Royal Blue Tourbillion Watch from Ulysse Nardin
Price : $1.1 Million
Placed in a platinum body with 568 baguette cut diamonds (approximately 33.8 Carat Total Weight), and 234 baguette cut royal blue sapphires (approximately 16.79 Carat Total Weight), the timepiece is as blingy and haute horology as one can get them.

The dial features a unique exposed skeleton design, which plays with royal blue and platinum colored plates to depict the time. The hours and minutes hands are itself rather artistic, looking at their thin handcrafted design. The lower half of the dial, which is platinum shaded, has the branding of the watchmaker in blue enamel, at the 4 and 8 ‘o’ clock positions. The casing on the other hand, has a rather intricate and thin line of royal blue sapphire crystals.

Autodromo Watch Line designed by Bradley Price

Autodromo Watch Line designed by Bradley Price
Bradley Price is 31-year-old product designer from Brooklyn, New York, with a special passion for cars and a pretty creative mind. Combine those two and you get an interesting mix.
Price had an inspiration: design a line of watches loosely inspired by sports car instrument panel gauges. Upon returning home, Price went to the drawing board and began rendering watch faces based on car gauges he admired.
The Brooklyn native continued to work on the designs of both the watch faces and casings and ended up creating a new company named Autodromo for his products.
“There are so many wonderful gauge designs from the 1960s and ’70s that I love,” Price told the New York Times in a recent interview. “I did some research and saw that no one was doing that for watches.”

Price currently offers five watches through his Autodromo website: Brescia, Vallelunga with a black or white dial, and the Veloce with either a PVD black or a stainless steel case, all priced at US$425.
