Box 1-7 Modular Shelf

A modular shelving system that can be stored like a "Russian nesting doll", which in itself becomes a decorative object. 

Created by Finnish designer Pekka Kuivamäki, Box 1-7 consists of seven cubic boxes that fit into each other like Russian nesting dolls. The boxes can be attached to seven ropes of different lengths that hang from a single nail on the wall.

Kuivamäki's inspiration came from a variety of artists and movements, including the suprematism of Kazimir Malevich, the neoplasticism of Piet Mondrian, the minimalism of Donald Judd, and other avant-garde artists and movements.

Box 1-7 is more about finding elegance in simplicity, a truly unique concept in different ways. A shelf that can be hung on the wall from a single nail and constantly rearranged and a shelf that can be a set of decorative storage boxes which can be placed next to a wall or on a large table creating a stairway effect.

 A catamaran which has the ability to accommodate three or four people and be as eco-friendly as it can. This concept features 50-foot extended open catamaran where the letter A inside the title was inspired with this particular designer previous concept, Arkki.

The most effective part of the A50 open catamaran is its cell surface, fitted to attain extra solar energy and the electrical engines together with other system are situated beneath the rear deck giving good amount of space

It utilizes Esthec composite deck with materials and technology, carefully completed to satisfy eco conscious consumers’ demands. It features bigger open space particularly for day cruising or longer trip.

The A50 open catamaran, can be  personalized how a deck, sun bathing area or perhaps the cabin rental fees are made or the way the boat would appear like, and offers  the facility to choose from many versions offered.

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Nokia announced the 808 PureView, a smartphone with a 41-megapixel image sensor and will be the first smartphone by Nokia to include its new PureView imaging technology, which combines a high-resolution sensor with Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia-developed algorithms.

The Nokia phone has a 4-inch screen with a 640 x 360 resolution, a 1.3Ghz single-core processor, and 512Mb of RAM. The handset comes with 16GB of storage space, but supports microSD expansion up to 32GB.

According to Nokia, the 808 uses a new pixel oversampling technology, that captures seven pixels of information and then condenses those into one single pixel. This results in a sharp photo, and the ability to zoom in on any portion of a 5-megapixel picture without losing clarity in the image. The technology also works on video, so you can shoot a full HD video at 30fps and 4x zoom.

Custom Yamaha XS650

If you follow Ze Last Chance Garage, you’ll know that Paris-based “Sonic Seb” has immaculate taste. This gorgeous Yamaha XS650 is his personal ride, beautifully captured by the photographer Dimitri Coste for Sideburn magazine.

Seb works for a major European motorcycle manufacturer, and he’s a pure gearhead. So he did much of the work on the XS650 himself, in a fantastic communal garage that he shares with friends—complete with paint booth and dyno room.

The bike is heavily modified, with the most visible change being a tank from a 1970s Yamaha DT360 enduro motorcycle. The two-into-one exhaust is from Gordon Scott Engineering, with a go-kart style spring bracket added by Seb.

The electric start has been removed to save weight and Mikuni VM34 Roundslide carbs fitted to add power. Keeping the motor cool are a large capacity external oil filter and high performance oil pump from Heiden Tuning.

Seb shaved the fork legs, and since these photos were taken, he’s fitted a front brake. The shocks are Harley-Davidson, and the alloy rear fender was found by chance on a shelf. The Octagon offers all the benefits of an angle adjustable stem without shortening “reach” when raised. This unique design allows for handlebar height to be changed while preserving the way the bike handles and rides. Also, with the octagonal shape of the post, steering remains engaged while raising or lowering the stem.
